Our Mission

The Sausalito Arts Commission was created in 1982 by Sausalito City Council. Our mission is to promote the art community in Sausalito, act as a liaison between the City Council and local artists and the community at large, in relation to the arts. We are the stewards of our public art and we strive to promote art and culture in Sausalito.  The Commission recommends and develops programs to achieve its mission, with consent of the City Council.

The current roster: Our current roster includes: Joshua Goldstein - Chairman, Bob Woodrum- Co-Chair, Hines- Treasurer, Nancy Forrest- Secretary, Mary Lee Bickford, Jeffrey Axelrod and Sandra Macleod White.

Our full compliment the Sausalito Arts Commission includes 9 voting members and 2 non-voting advisory members.

The prerequisite for voting members is that you must be a resident of Sausalito. Though Advisory Members are not required to be residents. It must also be noted that some of our greatest assets and contributors to the Arts Commission have been non-voting Advisory Members who's opinions have held much weight, helped shape policy and greatly influenced votes.
